Curriculum targets

To meet the learning needs of students from social changes and educational development, the focus of the development of the mathematics curriculum is as follows:

  1. Strengthen students' ability to apply knowledge and skills through STEM education.
  2. To emphasise the method of e-learning on the effectiveness on learning and teaching. Promoting self-learning and increase students' ability on using information technology.
  3. Emphasize cross-curricular language learning, such as promoting mathematics reading, allowing students to understand the connection between mathematics and in real life and other subjects.
  4. Through different Maths learning activities, strengthen the comprehensive development of students' generic skills, positive values ​​and positive attitudes.

Curriculum features

  1. To use interesting and diversified teaching design and practical classroom activities in order to alihm with the students' learning process.
  2. Improve students' ability to think, guiding students to learn different problem-solving strategies and thinking skills, and to develop students' exploring and problem-solving skills.
  3. Through interesting and diversified mathematics activities such as mathematics travel and chess, strengthen students' sense to numbers, space and logical thinking ability, extending the learning outside the classroom to increase their interest in learning.
  4. Participate in different types of inter school competitions to increase students' knowledge and widen their horizon.
  5. Make good use of e-learning tools to increase the effectiveness of learning and teaching and cater for the diversity of students.

  2. Improve the design of learning process at all levels, including homework design and teaching design, etc.
  3. Continue to develop school-based thinking courses.
  4. Strengthen students' ability on different problem-solving strategies.
  5. Promote diversified school mathematics activities.
  6. Organize different mathematics competitions in school.

 

 

Activities

Subject activities

Various mathematics activities were held this year, including performance assessment, Olympiad Mathematics classes, mathematics board games (tangrams), mathematics board games (connect four) and mathematics origami (4×4 magic cubes), introduce books about mathematics with the library department. Also, by cooperating with the Physical Education department, cross-subject activities are held, allowing students to feel the length of 1 kilometer and also the time consumed in seconds of skipping and doing sit ups, increase students' sense of volume, and many math competition are held(IQ questions and quick calculations).

 

STEM Learning Activities

Arrange scooter racing competition during PE lessons, letting students to compare the speed difference by using different tools to push the scooter. Thus, to introduce the concept of velocity.
